Stock backup rods, not backup lures
If anything, crankbaits probably got more play than expected, and some pros definitely saw success fishing them around grass edges and over the top places where youd expect to see a swim jig or vibrating jig do most of the work
Start off by tying on an offset shank worm hook and then stick the hook into the midsection of the worm (hook pointed towards the head of the worm), running the worm up onto the shank of the hook about 2-inches
Will never use anything else
Sometimes the bass on those ledges dont want to chase bait and prefer this more-subtle and slower-moving lure. Topwater lures also work in or on the edge of a current specifically the Heddon Super Spook Jr
